Manitowoc County was organized in 1836 from territorial land. The county seat is also called Manitowoc. Birth, death, & marriage records are available from the 1850's through the Register of Deeds. Land records are available from the early 1800 by contacting the Register of Deeds. For original land patents you can also search for records online. Naturalization records are not kept at the county level, rather they are available through the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. The address is listed below. Probate files are available from 1850 by contacting 'Register in Probate' at the county courthouse. There is a $4 search fee for probate, along with a $1 per page copy fee.
