FISCHER - I am looking for the parents of a Caroline Fischer, born ca 1838 in Prussia. She married Frederick Wilde 9 Aug 1858 in Manitowoc WI, and died 13 Nov 1887 in Nebraska. She had 3 children: Gustav Carl Henry Wilde, Emma J. Wilde, and Ella Wilde. Gustav was born in Manitowoc while Emma was born in Fond du Lac and Ella in Nebraska. My knowledge of the marriage of Caroline Fischer and Frederick Wilde is from his Civil War papers but I sent to Manitowoc Co. for verification and they could not find any. They did find evidence of the birth of son, Gustav Wilde, though. Perhaps the Fischer family did not actually live in Manitowoc County. I did look at your cemetery list but since I do not know who I'm looking for it didn't help much. But I will keep looking. Audrey Ulm/Sumas WA

HERZOG - Edward Herzog married Lillian Schweitzer the day the cornerstone was set at St. James Episcopal Church Jan l, 1901.Edward lived in the Manitowoc area and had many Herzogs sign in on the wedding registry, we know he had two or three brothers, Charles being the only one we could read. We believe, according to newspaper accounts of his death that he was born in Toledo, Ohio but there is never mention of dates or parents' names. My father-in-law is his grandson and he was 4 years old when Edward died in a car accident in 1934 or 35, he vaguely remembers that Edward's parents may have come from Austria. - Herzog
