If you find your family below and wish to see the original census record, before leaving these pages, you will need to note the County, township, column number, and names so you can quickly find your family on the microfilm at a large library that holds Wisconsin State census microfilm or by renting the film at an LDS Family History Center. On the census sheet it reads: 1855 Wisconsin Census - June 1, 1855 in the town of Jackson, Adams Co., WI. 62 heads of families were listed, and these statistics were provided by the census taker: 148 males, 139 females, and 13 of the 287 persons were of foreign birth. Only heads of households' names were listed on this census, names hard to decipher throughout and some first names were hidden by a tight binding when microfilmed. I did my best, but read carefully, the census taker used some creative spelling. If you spot an error, please let Joan know so it can be corrected. This is a complete transcription of this census and no other information is available on the original. Alphabetical Order ALLEN Hiram BALDWIN John BALDWIN M. BARKS or PARKS L. W.
